Afton State Park
You need to pay $7 for a day pass to park in the main lots. There is really no where else to park.
Bathrooms and water were available.
You will find a little of everything. Dirt, mud, gravel, grass, bark, pavement. Everything.
You can find virtually any type of terrain. The trails run the gamut from flat, long roads to extreme, technical hills.
We started out on a flat, gravel road to the southern end of the park then dove into some single path trails that led us through woods and across meadows.
Eventually, we made our way to the northern end. Each path seemed to have a unique characteristic. Grass, gravel, rocks, roots, steep, flat, etc. It was nice to pick and choose what we felt like trying each mile as we ran.
